Oscillation

An OSCILLATION is the alternating motion of an object or a signal from up-to-down or back-and-forth.

OSCILLATIONS are also called RHYTHMS, CYCLES or WAVES. 
OSCILLATIONS are found everywhere in Nature – and are both the result of SIGNALS - and act as the most powerful type of SIGNALS.
